■Supports TTL dimming. Easy operation by simply pressing the shutter . Supports TTL dimming for Canon, Nikon, and Sony digital single-lens cameras.
The light output is automatically adjusted, so you can take macro shots simply by attaching it to your camera and pressing the shutter.
■ Equipped with fine macro (low light emission mode)
In addition to the manual mode (1/1 to 1/64, -2/3EV, 1/3EV steps), the camera is equipped with a new "Fine Macro (low flash) mode" that allows fine control of low flash intensity from 1/128 to 1/1024 in 1/6EV steps.
■Control of left/right light intensity ratio on light emission ring <br data-mce-fragment="1">The light emission ring is divided into left and right A/B, and in TTL you can select from 15 different light emission ratios in 1/2EV increments. In manual mode you can also adjust the left and right separately, or shift the left and right light intensity ratio simultaneously while maintaining the same ratio.
■Light emitter that opens and closes according to lens diameter (compatible with 49mm to 77mm lenses)
It uses a new mechanism called the "size-adjustable light-emitting ring" that allows you to enlarge or reduce the size of the light-emitting ring with just one touch.
If the aperture of the macro lens is large, you can open the light emitter to reduce vignetting.
■Modeling LED lamp for easy focusing on the subject <br data-mce-fragment="1">The modeling lamp makes it easy to focus. In addition, the amount of illumination on the left and right changes according to the light intensity ratio of the light-emitting ring, making it useful for checking the lighting effect in advance.
■ Wireless TTL master function The MF18 is equipped with a wireless TTL master function, allowing you to control wireless TTL remote function-equipped strobes in groups A and C* in addition to the main body flash ring.
Channel settings are 1 to 4. Modes can be selected from TTL (flash compensation -3.0 to +3.0, 1/2EV steps) or manual (1/128 to 1/1, 1/3EV steps).
*The value set in group C of the wireless TTL mode of this unit applies to remote strobes set in groups A and C. (A and C cannot be controlled separately.)
